Why Do My Documents Have A Big Red Banner Across Them?
All our software requires activation. The core product AND plug-ins ALL need activation keys. If you are evaluating our software then all pages created will have a red banner across them to indicate that the software has not been activated. The activation status can be displayed using the Help-About menu of ScanToPDF. This screen will show the activation status of ScanToPDF and plug-ins. If you evaluate a particular solution (which includes some plug-ins) and then go onto purchase something else it will be possible to still have plug-ins installed that are not activated and therefore documents are watermarked. To remove watermarks you can there purchase activation keys for all the plug-ins you have installed, or you can remove the plug-ins that are not activated using the Edit->Options->Plug-ins screen, selecting the plug-in from the list of plug-ins (by single clicking it) and then clicking "Remove". You can also use the "Remove all" button to remove all plug-ins.

I have purchased a licence, what happens next ?
You can activate your software by logging into this web site using the Login/Register link at the top of this page and choosing "My Keys". You will need the serial number from your ScanToPDF software which you can see by starting ScanToPDF and clicking Help-About. More details..
If I need to re-install ScanToPDF on a new PC, what is your licencing policy?
Well, you will need to generate a new activation key (see above). We allow 3 licence re-issues in any 1 calendar year. You can re-issue an activation key using the "My Keys" section of the website. This page has more details - More
I do not want to pay by Credit Card or PayPal, what other payment methods can I use ?
We can accept payment by Bank Transfer. We will email you an invoice for payment by Bank Transfer (we will send our Bank Details with the invoice). For E.U Zone customers, we will need your tax number before we send an invoice WITHOUT tax being added (for companies that are NOT registered for V.A.T, it will be added at the current U.K rate of V.A.T). What is the difference between the home user licence (now called Basic Edition) and the full version (now called Standard Edition)
The Basic Edition (formerly Home User Version) scans only ONE page at a time (for each click of the scan button in ScanToPDF) and is ideal for use with a flatbed scanner or multi-function device. When I click the ScanToPDF Scan button I get a message saying there are no valid images in a folder!
ScanToPDF has not detected any scanner sources attached to your PC and has therefore assumed that you are trying to scan from folder. Click File->Select Scanning Device-> Select TWAIN source. If no TWAIN sources are listed then you need to install a TWAIN driver (usually this software comes with your scanner or can be downloaded from the manufacturers web site) - More details
Will I need to pay again if I scan lots of pages?
No, once you have activated your software, you can scan as many pages as you want, there is no limit, un-like some other scanning software vendors who will ask you to buy another activation key after a set number of pages.
Why isn't your software FREE?
We work hard to provide a great scanning solution, this is not a hobby or something we do because we're bored, we actually do it for a living ! The old saying certainly rings true for software just as much as any other product you might buy, "There is no such thing as a free lunch". Free software is often provided by companies whose business model relies on building up lists of registered users so they can promote other versions, or other products and services. Although it is not FREE we do think it still provides the best value for money scanning solution on the Web today, let us know if you disagree!
OiC Support Want Me to Send Log Files, How Do I Do This?
Our support team may ask you to provide log files to help with fault diagnosis.
To generate a TWAIN log file
> close scantopdf
> right-hand click on the scantopdf desktop shortcut
> select properties
> add the following switch to the end of the 'target' setting /twaindebug
i.e. the target should now read:
"C:\Program Files\O Imaging Corporation\ScanToPDF\ScanToPDF.exe" /twaindebug
The log file will be called ezTwain.log in the “My Documents” folder
To generate a ScanToPDF log file
> close scantopdf
> right-hand click on the scantopdf desktop shortcut

i.e. the target should now read:

Scanner Will Only Scan One Page At A Time Even When Using Standard Edition
You need to make sure that you have selected the correct TWAIN source. There is a twain source that is actually a TWAIN / WIA bridge. If this is selected it will only scan 1 page
In our example - To select the Fujitsu TWAIN source use the one highlighted in Blue above and NOT the one highlighted in Yellow. A Basic rule would be to avoid anything with the word WIA in it !
